Indiana University is already getting complaints about mold in residence halls as students start moving in.

On Sunday, one parent posted a picture on Facebook, saying they found what appeared to be mold in one of the drawers that slides beneath the bed in Forest Hall.

A university spokesman says a clean up crew immediately responded.

A university spokesman says a clean up crew immediately responded.

The school blamed the mold on the carpet not being dried out after getting cleaned.

The parent told Eyewitness News her daughter was relocated to an overflow area in a timely manner, and the school agreed to replace all the carpet in the room, even though crews recommended only a few squares be replaced.

The parent said IU went “above and beyond” in dealing with the issue.

Crews have also responded to least one other complaint.

IU says they spent more than $11 million on the mold clean-up after multiple problems last spring.

They even set up a call center for students and parents to contact with any concerns.
